The Village at Murphy’s Crossing Condominium Association welcomes you to our web page. We have established this site to help keep our homeowners informed of their account status and happenings within the community.
Memorial Day, originally known as Decoration Day, began after the Civil War as a time to honor fallen Union soldiers by decorating their graves with flowers. Over time, it evolved to commemorate all U.S. military personnel who have died in service to our country. The first widely recognized observance took place in 1868, and by the late 1800s, it was being marked by communities across the nation. In 1971, Memorial Day was officially declared a federal holiday and set to be observed on the last Monday of May, giving Americans a meaningful way to reflect on sacrifice while also enjoying the unofficial start to summer. As you fire up the grill or head to the pool, take a moment to remember the true purpose of the holiday!
